BCDA v3 goes live July 1, 2026

Jun 15th, 2026

v3 to bring advances in timeliness and performance for value-based care.

BCDA v3 will go live July 1, 2026, bringing enhancements like timelier and more frequent updates, easier claims tracking, enhanced filtering, and increased conformance with FHIR standards. By consolidating data sources, v3 brings improvements including:

  • Reducing mismatched data with CCLF files
  • Resolving missing data and fixing conformance issues
  • Improving linkage between partially and fully adjudicated claims
  • Introducing more consistent claim identifiers

These fundamental changes improve data frequency, tracking, filtering, and mapping, as well as alignment with interoperability standards.

What this means for v1 and v2 implementations

Existing users will migrate to v3 between July 1, 2026 and mid-2027 (date TBD). The BCDA team will provide migration guides and hold in-person office hours for live support.

Want to get started?

Send your Entity ID(s) to the BCDA team at bcapi@cms.hhs.gov. We’ll follow up with instructions and will enable your access to v3 starting July 1, 2026.

What happens next?

The BCDA team will announce v3 availability both on this site and in the BCDA Google Group. We’ll provide contact information and links to support materials.

We’re excited by the potential v3 offers for impactful, organizational change and smoother day-to-day operations. We look forward to sharing news of the launch and working with organizations through the migration journey.
